My loves in life include mountains, rivers, animals, and ART! I have finally found a means to engulf myself in all of these splendors. For those of you who don’t yet know me, my career has focused on the visual arts since high school when I first took ceramic classes and entered gallery shows in Detroit, Michigan. My first animals included a life size bear and anteater as well as a bat seven times larger than life! I moved away to Bozeman, Montana and studied sculpture at MSU where I received a BA. I not only continued to work with clay, but I also learned to sculpt with cement and steel. My graduate studies took me to NIU in DeKalb, Illinois where I got the teaching bug by doing adult education ceramics classes and teaching other grads to weld. After getting an MA from NIU, I moved to New Mexico, got a job as a production potter and started studying Art Education. I also started to rock climb and kayak. When I got my first teaching position in Farmington, New Mexico the rock climbing, kayaking and art took off. I entered several shows in Colorado and found galleries in Utah, Colorado and New Mexico to take my production work. Ah, those were the days!
The images you see today are a culmination of my experiences in the great outdoors and my genuine love of animals and their personalities. Please continue to return for future images to pop up!
